Umfors Hunting can accommodate up to 20 guests and helps you with all the formalities for hunting invitations and permissions in the area, including the required Arlanda police applications.
The Terrain
Hunt in the heart of the Scandinavian wilderness
Umfors is a remote mountain village in Swedish Lapland, located just north of Hemavan. The wilderness begins at your doorstep — with excellent opportunities for small game including willow ptarmigan (ripa), mountain hare, capercaillie (tjäder) and black grouse (orre).
As a foreign hunter you need both a valid hunting license and an invitation from a local hunter to hunt in the mountains. That's where we come in — we offer accommodation and assist with the application process and formal invitation from a local hunting host.

We guide you through the process of obtaining hunting invitations, so you arrive ready to hunt. While we do not offer guided hunts, we help you with:

Practicalities
What we provide — and what you arrange
Umfors Hunting provides accommodation, hunting invitations, and assistance with all necessary paperwork for your trip. You are responsible for arranging your own travel to and from Umfors — we're happy to offer travel tips, route suggestions, and contact details for local facilities, shops, and support services.
If you're travelling with dogs, we recommend bringing a dedicated dog transport trailer where your dogs can rest and stay overnight. This is especially important as some of our cabins must remain pet-free due to allergy concerns.
The Cabins

Our four cabins have a total capacity of up to 20 guests. The accommodations are modern yet cozy with breathtaking views of surrounding mountains and valleys. After a long day on the terrain, relax in comfort and warmth.
Each cabin is equipped for a self-sufficient stay — full kitchens, showers, comfy beds and saunas. Whether you're a solo hunter or a group, the cabins offer both privacy and a connection to nature.
